Lynn Abbott

Lynn has spent the past 26 years working as an administrator specializing in member services for non-profit organizations, including the American Council of the Blind, the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired, and the Grass-Roots Organization for the Well-Being of Seniors (GROWS).

Lynn volunteers as a block coordinator for the Bannockburn Neighborhood Association’s Neighbors Assisting Neighbors program. Her favorite duties currently include serving as a friendly visitor to an elderly widow, providing free cat sitting to a senior who cannot afford to pay for animal care, and delivering weekly batches of homemade soup to a neighbor in treatment for cancer.

Lynn earned her degree in Social Work from Providence College. She lives in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband, Eric and their dog and cat.

Knowing that I’ve helped make a difference in the life of a senior or someone with a disability is so gratifying. The biggest compliment I can receive is to be told that I’ve played a small role in helping our clients reclaim some control over their finances.
